Purpose and boundary
The calculator is a planning tool for comparing assumptions before choosing a third-party service. It does not quote, sell, ship, insure, clear customs, or guarantee a final charge.
Users can enter their own current rates. A provider rule may be used only when it has a source, check date, validity window, defined currency and applicable scenario.
Calculation order
The documented order is: product price and domestic shipping, currency conversion where required, agent service and payment fees, billable international shipping, insurance or optional fees, then a tax or customs estimate when supplied.
Percentage fees apply to their named base only. The calculator does not silently charge the same component twice. Money and rates use decimal fixed-point arithmetic with documented half-up rounding.
Billable weight
Actual weight is compared with volumetric weight when dimensions and the selected carrier divisor are available. Volumetric weight is calculated from length × width × height × parcel quantity divided by the chosen divisor. Billable weight is the greater applicable value, then rounded according to the shipping rule.
If dimensions or a qualified weight are missing, the field remains a user assumption. Product-page prefill is disabled for zero, unitless, or otherwise unqualified weight.
Ranges and uncertainty
Low, middle and high results represent explicit input ranges or rule ranges, not a probability forecast. The result identifies the rate version and input assumptions so an expiring share link can reproduce the same calculation rather than silently switching to newer rates.
Unknown fees remain listed as missing or excluded. They are not converted to zero to produce a more attractive total.
What may not be included
- Unexpected repacking, remote-area, fuel, oversize, storage or return charges.
- Payment-provider spread, card or account-specific charges not entered.
- Customs classification, brokerage, duties, tax thresholds, penalties or seizure.
- Exchange-rate movement after the selected observation.
- Seller, agent, carrier or authority decisions made after calculation.
How to review a result
Compare every input with the provider source and destination-specific terms, verify the currency and effective date, review actual and volumetric weight, and keep a contingency for unknown charges. Use the agent comparison only when current comparable data is available.
