Carriers may charge for the space a parcel occupies. Enter one parcel's dimensions; the total is scaled by the parcel count.

Common DHL/UPS/FedEx divisors are 5000 or 6000. Use the route's divisor.

The chargeable weight is the greater of actual weight, volumetric weight, and any minimum billable weight. This tool only estimates volumetric weight; the final route may round differently.

Transparent method

How volumetric weight is calculated

  1. Package volume is length × width × height in cubic centimetres.
  2. Volumetric weight per parcel is volume divided by the route divisor (commonly 5000 or 6000).
  3. Total volumetric weight is the per-parcel value times the parcel count, rounded up to whole grams.
  4. The chargeable weight is the greater of actual weight, volumetric weight, and any minimum billable weight.

The calculator does not know the actual parcel weight: enter it separately when comparing routes.
